Ah, bad puns, you are my friend.

So today at work I had the bestest idea ever™! Headed to Toys 'R' Us straight after work to pick up el cheapo materials to implement my crazy plan, and spent about an hour doing my best to fashion genius out of non-toxic modeling compound.

Is there anyone else who looks at Play-Doh and hears Bart's voice in their head saying, "Come on Dad, it's non-toxic..."? Happens every time I play with this stuff.

So anyway, it turned out better than it should have, not as good as it could have, and my hands smell funny.

Because more is better! )

It's really tempting to just crawl into bed and sleep until next year.

But before I leave you in melancholy, have a extra-special New Year's present:

Yesterday was a (comp) half-day at work, followed by DigitalLife, dinner at Sharaku, and Team America: World Police. Thus proving that this was way too much fun for me, I fell asleep on the train ride home at only fuggin' 12:30am, and went straight to bed to sleep for something like 11 hours. Decided against returning to DigitalLife today, since it would be crowded and mostly because it would require leaving the house. Tomorrow is another story, and maybe I'll go with my brother.

Instead, spent day watching Alias and Day After Tomorrow, reading magazines gotten for free at DigitalLife, and playing Katamari Damacy. Still watching Alias, did not like Day After Tomorrow very much (who the fuck takes shelter in a library? ok, it has books, but seriously...), the magazines were an interesting study in one company (Ziff-Davis) publishing two zillion different magazines and finding two zillion different ways to talk about the same damn game (Halo 2), and finally, I beat Katamari Damacy. I managed 401m on the last board, which still isn't great despite being above target by 1/3 of the goal (300m). Also, that game makes me very dizzy. I need to stop playing it so late - it's becoming a good excuse to fall into a coma for 11 hours.

"Ooh, I feel woozy. I know, I should go to bed. Wait, it's only 10am? Damn."

(Wait, I didn't actually talk about Team America... or DigitalLife. Should I? Perhaps. But not right now. Because Katamari Damacy has made me dizzy, and I must sleep.)

Got home around 3:30 after probably the most ghetto flight I can ever remember taking. Spent day with family since no one seemed particularly interested in hanging out when I asked (especially a certain ex). It went pretty well, as I introduced small children to the wonders of rolling a sticky ball through the streets of a Technicolor Japan. The two-year-old girl was strangely proficient at it, despite being the least interested of the entire flock of children.

Tomorrow I have off from work due to a certain Italian explorer, so it will most likely involve writing about yesterday and the trip back in more detail, unpacking my bags, and cleaning my room a bit. I can't find my Billy West CD, and that makes me very sad, but it's also good motivation to put some of my crap away.

Finally finished Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I put it aside a while ago to work on Pokémon, and today I decided I needed a break from that. Discovered that I only had three more battles to play, so I blasted through them on the train ride home, and the bus, and walking to my house, and then sitting on the stairs. It was a nice ending, though finishing a game always makes me sad. But, as I told my mother, that's what sequels are for. ^_^

Also made more progress on Katamari Damacy. I think I'm finally getting better as I play more and more... which makes sense. I find my memory is getting better as to the layout of each board and the items in each area.

Shit... just spilled lemonade in my room. Wiped everything down, but there's still wetness and I'm too lazy to sit there and make sure everything is bone dry. Bah, this balances the evening out. Between this and my freakin' ReplayTV that refuses to connect to the server. Ugh. I'll try again in the morning, when I can call customer service and yell at them. Hooking the thing up was a real bitch too, just proving once again that I need to get off my ass and get broadband already.

I'm leaving Thursday night, so if anyone wanted to hang out they have to do it tomorrow or Wednesday... rather, tomorrow, since I need to do laundry and pack at some point. I should also finish watching the second disc of .hack//Twilight... ugh, not enough time for anything.

Last quiet weekend before the storm that is the rest of October. Spent weekend at home, though not intentionally. Yesterday went out and picked up Katamari Damacy yesterday. So there is an advantage to living in the middle of nowhere, as the Gamestop up the street still had two copies.

I love this game. Have you heard of it? So, er, the King of the Cosmos has managed to obliterate all the stars in the sky, and now he's depending on you (the prince) to help rebuild them. So your job is to run around Earth with this sticky ball, rolling over objects and snatching them up so the ball gets bigger... and bigger.. and bigger, and soon you're snatching up vending machines and penguins and boats and children. There's a size goal to be achieved within a time limit. And at the end they tell you the size of the ball, time achieved, and top objects snatched. The last board I finished, #2 on the latter list was teenagers. Yep.

The game satisfies some of my destructive desires, as those who oppose me are soon crushed beneath my katamari. Except that fucking duck car. That goddamn duck car mocks my existence and grinds down my beautiful ball of junk into nothingness and I cry and then the King of the Cosmos berates me. He is a cruel, cruel father.

The music is awesome, and the graphics are pretty sweet, at least in that the birds and people you grab continue to flail as you continue your merciless roll down the street.

The game makes me slightly dizzy if I play it too long, though. It's that or the ear infection.

Trying to get lots of media out of the way. Alias season 2 finally arrived, working on finishing Pokémon Ruby (currently on Victory Road but really need to bulk up), and also watched some .hack//Legend of the Twilight. Okay, so WTF is up with the twincest? So they'll probably never have sex, but they really don't have to. The blushing, the staring, and the mindless devotion were enough. Geez, cute character designs don't really cover up the wrongness of it all, you know.
